About me
My name is Alejandra Rodriguez and I am the new Pre-School teacher at Sandoval. I am a proud product of the Chicago public and charter school system--qualities and experiences all of which will allow me to connect with my students. In 2013, I left the closeness of my home to pursue a higher education degree in at Davidson College in North Carolina. There, I graduated with a Political Science major and an educational studies minor in May 2017 and joined Teach for America.
This is my second year as a teacher in CPS. Last year, I taught Kindergarten at a dual language program school and hope to take some of those experiences to help my kids this year. It is my first year teaching preschool, and, while I am nervous, I am also excited to learn along my students and your side.
Over the summer, I was a folkloric dance instructor through the RISE Frida Kahlo program at Gunsaulus Elementary. I have also been part of a danza folklorica group in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago since I was in 6th grade and continue going to practices. I hope to bring some of those dance moves to my students!
I hope I get to learn more about pre-school dual language.
