Essential Question: How can we center student voice, choice, and inquiry as we engage students in learning about the Power of Activism and prepare them to take informed action about issues that matter to them?
The morning session will focus on Unit 5: The Power of Activism from the 11th grade Participate Civics curriculum. The afternoon session will be co-facilitated with Chicago Votes and will focus on taking informed action by leveraging Chicago Votes’ legislative tracking tool as part of an inquiry-based approach to authentic civic learning.
The morning session (9:30 - 11:30) is open to high school civics teachers. The afternoon session (12:30 - 3) is open to both middle and high school civics teachers.
