Skyline 101
Develop an understanding of Skyline’s key instructional shifts and core components, and how they empower you to enrich your students’ learning experiences. We encourage you to review the schedule & register as soon as possible! Skyline 101 is required in-person training for teachers & coaches new to Skyline.

During these sessions you will:
  • Experience and internalize key instructional shifts in their content area as a learner and a teacher
  • Explore the core components of the Skyline curriculum and how these support the CPS Instructional Core Vision
  • Develop a foundational understanding of Skyline digital learning ecosystem

Unit Internalization
Plan for successful implementation of the upcoming Skyline unit, including support for students with disabilities and multilingual learners, and using assessments and the Checkpoint platform effectively. Unit internalization is highly recommended for teachers and coaches new to Skyline.

During these sessions you will:
  • Study the unit to deeply understand (1) the big ideas students are expected to learn, (2) the arc of learning over the unit, and (3) how students will be assessed summatively and formatively along the way
  • Tailor instruction to meet the needs of students with unfinished learning, students with disabilities, and multilingual learners
  • Internalize the instructional practice shifts embedded in the curriculum by experiencing a lesson immersion

Skyline Essentials Badges
Self-paced professional learning essential for those who are implementing and/or supporting the implementation of Skyline. Courses include how to navigate Skyline, plan and teach lessons and administer assessments using the Skyline digital learning ecosystem.  The Navigating, Planning, Teaching, and Assessing 1&2 badges are required for new Skyline adopting teachers.  Access Skyline Essential Badges HERE!

Tuesday July 30, 2024 9:00am - 3:00pm CDT
Pre-K Skyline 101: Infusing Skyline into a Creative Curriculum Study
Pre-K teachers will be given priority when enrolling in this session.

This session is designed to ensure that all Pre-K teachers and TAs who are NEW to opting into Skyline supplemental resources (ELA, Math, Science, and Social Science) explore core components of lessons and units and how these resources work in conjunction with The Creative Curriculum. This session is also designed to ensure that participants analyze the structure of the resources and that they are equipped to infuse components of a Skyline lesson or unit into a Creative Curriculum study. Skyline content area and Creative Curriculum study TBD. This is not a Pre-K Foundational Literacy Skills (PKFS) session.

This session is developed and designed specifically with a Pre-K lens for pre-K teachers. We will look at utilizing Skyline supplemental (ELA, Math, Science, Social Science) materials with a Creative Curriculum study.  If you are not a Pre-K teacher or do not support Pre-K, please check Sched for sessions for your content or grade level.
