About me
Toni is a Professional Learning Specialist in the Office of Early Childhood with Chicago Public Schools. She has over 30 years of experience in the classroom and at the district level. Through district-level professional learning, she develops the capacities of educators to build, implement, and sustain high-quality, equitable early childhood programs.
Toni is a strong advocate for early mathematics and its importance in the early years. She supports educators in the planning and implementation of learning experiences that foster the joy, love, and beauty of mathematics. Toni brings the lens of early mathematics to her positions on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics, as a co-lead facilitator for NAEYC's Early Math Interest Forum, as an NCTM Conference Program Committee member, and in her role as a Family Math Advisory Board Member for the Development and Research in Early Mathematics Education (DREME). Toni finds joy in empowering educators to nurture the mathematical minds of their early learners in the critical years.
