About me
My name is Tracy Caronia. I am a special education teacher at Palmer Elementary. I have been teaching for 17 years as both a general and special education teacher. I also have my school counseling degree. I am a trainer for the Second Step program that I have used in many of the schools I have taught in. I have taught and counseled at every grade level from K-9 and I can’t imagine having any other job! I believe SEL needs to be seen as another subject in the school day just as math, ELA, science and social studies are taught so must empathy, impulse control, anger management, self-regulation skills and other essential SEL related issues facing our children today. SEL is not an afterthought or something to slide in when you have a few spare moments in the day. It is essential and can change the culture and climate of your classroom and school for the better. I am a passionate and eager teacher and counselor who is excited to build upon my SEL toolkit and enhance my SEL learning and bring my knowledge back to my school community.
Thank you,
Tracy
