About me
Hello! My name is Whitney Carson and I am an Instructional Design and Development Specialist at the CPS Office of Multilingual-Multicultural Education (OMME). I grew up in a small town in Iowa and attended The University of Iowa for undergrad where I studied Political Science and Spanish. I taught high school Spanish in St. Louis for four years and earned my Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. I have lived in Chicago for ten years and served as a teacher and administrator in Noble Schools.
I have dedicated the last decade of my career to developing and implementing effective ESL and bilingual programs. My leadership experience has been focused on enhancing educational practices, coaching and managing teachers, and developing curriculum and instructional strategies to ensure that Multilingual Learners receive the highest quality education. I am committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment, promoting biliteracy, and helping students and families navigate their educational journeys. I look forward to collaborating with all of you, sharing innovative strategies, and continuing to support and empower students, families, and educators.
